This vessel is known as a flower frog. Flower frogs were created as a means of assisting floral designers with flower arranging and can be traced back to as early as 14th century Japan. There are many types including glass, pottery, and metal. (No one really knows why they're called frogs, but the best guess is that it's because they sit in water, like their namesake.)
My love of nature and architecture alike inspired me to design an heirloom-quality ceramic piece that could display the beauty of flora just like a frame embracing every stroke in a painting.
Together with the help of master potters, we embarked on a creative journey that has brought my renderings to life. An elegant hand-made flower vessel was born using natural fired clay and hand finished with a beautiful unique milk-like glaze.
Each piece is unique with handmade qualities and glazing.
